The first phase of the Jalan Duta Government Quarters project, developed by SPK-Sentosa Corporation Bhd, the construction arm of Sharikat Permodalan Kebangsaan Bhd (SPK Group), recently received its Certificate of Fitness. The physical works of the project were completed in October 2003, five months ahead of schedule. “The completion of the Jalan Duta Government Quarters project bears testimony to the SPK Group’s ability to deliver construction projects either on, or ahead, of schedule, in line with our mission of becoming a world-class organisation, says Saiful Aznir Shahabudin, managing director of SPK Group. The SPK Group is an investment holding company active in construction, technology and property development. He attributes the project’s early completion to a dedicated project-management team with deep experience and an excellent working relationship with the Public Works Department and the Prime Minister’s Department. Located on some 10 hectares in Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur, the project comprises a RM200 million residential development and a RM55 million access road from Jalan Duta to the site. The 856 residential units, to be developed in two phases, boast a built-up area of more than 1.6 million sq ft. The remaining 156 units under the second phase are under construction. According to Saiful, great emphasis was placed on the overall aesthetic design of the units as well as its functionality and practicality to ensure that future residents enjoy their living environment. |
